jerusalem wild flower sanctuary
Jerusalem Wild Flower Sanctuary & Visitors Centre, Neve Yaacov, north Jerusalem.
Client – Society for Protection of Nature in Israel
Development of small Nature Reserve Park, creating a natural habitat for the indigenous wild flowering plants of the Jerusalem mountain region. The landscape plan carefully preserves the natural environment, and is slowly being populated with local wild flowering plants.
A Visitor Centre is planned, with research greenhouse facilities and exhibition spaces, within a Passive Solar single story building integrated into the slope of the hillside. The building is designed to function without need for conventional heating or cooling equipment.
Design: Valentina Nelin & Tony Rigg
